I came to the USA from Colombia in November of 1989. I saw my first bodybuilding magazine in a newsstand in 42nd st. On the cover there was this guy with huge triceps performing a single overhead triceps extension. It totally blew my mind. I felt that’s who I wanted to become; a bodybuilder.

My fitness journey was inspired by a personal desire to prioritize my health and well-being. I realized the incredible benefits that regular exercise and a balanced lifestyle can bring, not just physically but also mentally and emotionally.

Starting at the original David Barton Gym, I’ve been on team David since 1992. It was David’s vision of providing members the chance to experience the perfect ‘rep’; a focus on proper biomechanics, dialed in mind body connection. That inspired me back then, and invigorated my willingness to follow him throughout the years and various locations.

I have been training clients for over 20 years. My fitness journey began as a teenager where I developed a passion for strength training. This led me to pursue a career as a personal trainer.Starting out independently for the first 5 years, I was eventually invited to join the team at David Barton Gyms in 2006 and worked at their Chelsea, Astor Place and Limelight locations. I’ve continued to train for David to this day.

During my early 20’s, I was diagnosed with minor scoliosis. Working out was never my thing, but my doctor suggested I begin exercising to help alleviate my symptoms. Having felt the benefits and the improvement of the condition, I fell in love with fitness and wanted to share that love with others.
Frankie

Just your typical gym class failure turned fitness trainer! Like many people, I didn’t have a natural passion towards fitness, and getting started wasn’t easy. Growing up, I was always very insecure about my extra thin stature. Never really knowing how to change it, I decided to join a gym and eventually hired a personal trainer.

I’m a fitness expert yes, but a person first. I want to know what matters to my clients first and foremost. After that, we work together to achieve your goals.

Growing up I loved playing football, but I was always one of the smallest players on my team. I tried everything under the sun to get bigger and nothing seemed to work. It wasn’t until college that I decided to explore different forms of fitness to help achieve my goals. I was determined to transform my body and it worked.
